Guidelight Releases Version 1.3 of Matrix Measuring Software

Guidelight Business Solutions has completed the development and testing of the Matrix Electronic Measurement System. Utilizing manufacturer's factory specifications for automobiles, the Matrix Electronic Measurement System visually inspects a vehicle to determine any variation against an ideal vehicle of the same make, model, year and bodystyle. This is achieved by a robotic instrument placed under the vehicle and operated wirelessly from a base station by an automotive repair technician.

The software components consist of a customized Linux operating system to power an under-vehicle robot, along with a director and results analyzer application running on a Linux based PC. The embedded system of the robot generates real-time video and measurement data that is aggregated, interpreted and presented at the technician's base station.

In late 2004, Matrix Electronic Measuring completed a laboratory prototype of the robotic system. Guidelight then matured the prototype into an commercial-quality product by designing and implementing the business logic, database, user friendly graphical interface, online help and tutorial documentation of the system. The delivered software delighted Matrix.
