Guidelight adds Real-Time Features to Matrix Products
Guidelight Business Solutions, an Austin, Texas software outsourcing firm, has completed the work on a real-time monitoring feature for Matrix Electronic Measuring’s flagship product, MEMS. The addition of the “Monitor the Pull” feature to Matrix’s automotive collision repair system provides immediate feedback to a repair technician during the process of pulling a vehicle back into factory tolerances. By electronically observing key points as the frame is straightened, the system allows the technician to work faster and more accurately than ever before. The enhanced system continuously monitors these selected positions on the chassis and provides the technician with real-time metrics and video observation of the points as they are brought into alignment.
To simplify the presentation of the complex array of information necessary to properly conduct a repair, Guidelight custom developed a unique three-axis display similar to a radarscope. Vehicle deviations are mapped to the display and easily interpreted as the repair occurs. Correct alignment is achieved when observed points coincide with their corresponding factory specifications.
Matrix CEO Jan Srack considers the solution a strategic edge in the collision repair technology market, saying “Matrix's relationship with Guidelight Business Solutions has in every aspect been phenomenal. Guidelight delivers on time with creative solutions within budget. In every way our relationship has exceeded expectations and has been both refreshing and profitable.”
Guidelight Business Solutions has been the principle developer of the Matrix Electronic Measuring System since January 2005 and continues to break new ground in computer vision based products. For Matrix, Guidelight uniquely combines remote sensing, metrology, photogrammetry, robotic and automation technologies to deliver the only photographic measurement system available to the automotive collision repair market.
