Strong management was paramount to moving the Matrix Electronic Measurement System toward a commercially viable product. After an initial period to coordinate ongoing activities and establishing performance benchmarks, the commercial product software development was migrated to Guidelight's engineering environment and organized under the Beacon Methodology.
Use cases were developed from interviews with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts. Subsequent anaylsis defined a segmentation of features and value propositions for a commercial measurement system. Prototype functionality was then reorganized into discreet business objects representing the fundamental structures that could deliver the identified business value.
Years of laboratory research transitioned into a commercial product being placed at customer locations. Customer response and acceptance has led Matrix to transition into a mainstream operations and support model. Customer demands for new features are being collected by Guidelight, and planned for inclusion in the next release.
