ObjectivesChallengeGuidelight was tasked with accomplishing the objectives while being both highly collaborative and minimally disruptive in the high-energy and dynamic KaleidaCare environment. With a passion for providing the best possible care management system for foster care administrators, KaleidaCare is highly motivated for a noble and important cause. The imperative to deliver excellence was a strong synergy between KaleidaCare and Guidelight.
Document management must be secure and robust. Anything less could potentially cause compliancy violations and expose sensitive data. In conjunction, the transfer of Guidelight’s Beacon methodology would be engendered in the KaleidaCare team allowing continued commercial-grade solution development to continue – even after Guidelight concluded the project. Each action undertaken must also meet or exceed an acronym soup of standards and regulations. Failure to adhere to regulation was not an option.
ResponseAfter two initial facilitated sessions to gather critical success factors for the overall effort, Guidelight engineers devised a system for storing mixed-format documents in a hierarchical file system without resorting to uncontrolled database insertions. The algorithms derived maintained strong referential integrity between clients and each of their case-associated documents. The solution incorporated security access, audit trails and reporting capabilities. Standards compliance was met at each stage through cross-functional team meetings which doubled as a methodology transfer point.
ResultsThe many elements of the solution were extensively tested prior to main product integration. Once the systems were united, the document management systems and other features came online for the first time. Due to good planning, good teamwork, and the joint focus on delivering excellence to KaleidaCare users, the new system features are in heavy use today. Guidelight’s solution expertise has enhanced KaleidaCare’s position as the foster care management solution of choice for thousands of happy users.
